UNDONE x Popeye Automatic The Sailorman Limited Edition The Sailorman comes equipped with what they call a “Marine Nationale Strap”. The history can be traced down to the late 1950s when the French Navy supplied watch “heads” without straps. In the absence of said straps, Frogmen and members of the Marine Nationale would have to make rugged yet durable straps fashioned from elastic parachute braid and parachute hardware. Thereby creating the iconic look that is closely associated with vintage “Marine Nationale” watches. Featuring Popeye™’s iconic red and black uniform colorway, “The Sailorman” is a whimsical interpretation of MN straps.
